THEMES

Grounded in the Five Element Theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine, each day will be dedicated to a deep exploration of the Elements.

Our work together as Sangha, spiritual community, will be within the domain of Yin Yoga and will contribute to your continuing education as a Yoga practitioner, inquisitor, and/or facilitator. We will touch on the realms of resetting the nervous system, healing from past traumas, dissolving tensions, increasing musculoskeletal resiliency, strengthening joint stability, and cultivating elasticity in the body mind. We use embodied and informed anatomy and alignment, scientific bases for sequencing, and psychological self inquiry grounded in Buddhist practices.

Mornings will be taken in Noble Silence.

After breakfast we will break silence with learning modules crafted to deepen your own relationship to Yoga Principles of Asana & Alignment, Buddhist + 8 Limb Yoga Philosophy, Meridians, Sequencing & Adjustments, and more.

Mindfulness modules, Yoga Nidras, Restorative Practices, and Teaching Practicums will be segmented throughout the evenings.

Each day will offer Yin/Restorative practices for your own embodied experience, as well as extensive teaching practicums to find your authentic voice as a space holder and mindful movement facilitator.

A specific focus on Pratyahara - the Great Withdrawal - will be encouraged by drawing the boundaries around retreat life to train in the principles of stillness, spaciousness, and quietude. Disconnecting from normative social contexts (note: limited cell service & no wifi!) and devices is recommended during our time together to allow the nervous system to enter the deep folds of rich restoration.

In the serenity of the jungle, we’ll turn off all our devices and go online with our hearts, breath, and practice.

“KALI’S TEACHINGS HAVE AWAKENED THE ENERGY THAT HAD BEEN BURIED UNKNOWN TO ME FOR SO MANY YEARS OF MY LIFE AND THE FIRE WITHIN HAS BEEN IGNITED TO GIVE AND TO OFFER TO OTHERS.”

“Deep in the wild mountains is a trading post where you can exchange the stress and noise of everyday life for eternal Light.

Go there on retreat.

In the still center of luminous empty essence is a blissful tremor, the heartbeat of the universe: the Great Dakini breathing as Love Itself.

Go there on retreat.

In the background of the gap between thoughts and breaths awareness naturally recognizes itself as non-conceptual wisdom shining continuously.

Go there on retreat.”

“Kali is the definition of wisdom. I feel held in such an intuitive deep space. Her teachings are enlightening and expanding. I feel this knowledge will stay with me a lifetime.”

— Cusco, Peru

“The most impactful work I’ve ever done in my life”

“I truly enjoyed every moment of Kali’s Yin training as it brought me to a new level of awareness in the body. This training has transformed my perspective on how Yin can heal the physical by unlocking the energy flow of the meridians pathways, while creating space for a deeper spiritual connection. A beautiful week of learning and discovery through Kali’s extensive range of knowledge and wisdom!”

“so immeasurable was the depth of this experience... it’s hard to find words.”

"You cannot miss an opportunity to train with Kali. She is an exceptional teacher. Yoga with Kali is transformative, inspiring and healing. She creates a safe, nurturing, encouraging environment for everyone from beginner to advanced. Kali is an insightful, intuitive, gentle and strong leader. Words are not enough to express how wonderful she is. She is a gift to the world. Do yourself a favor and study with her."

“It’s been almost a week since I came back from retreat. This divinely orchestrated training with Kali has been such a magical experience that I haven’t been able to truly share how my experience has shifted me - not with words. The awakening and purification of my heart has been so profound that I may never have the right words to describe this transformation. Somehow, somewhere in the Sacred Valley, I felt like myself again and connected with my heart more than I ever had, I realized I had the permission to heal and I felt a sense of true contentment, which is genuine, unmotivated and unconditional.

Just a few things I’ve learned when I was on retreat:

🌼Happiness and distress is inevitable, but I do not have to prolong or multiply the suffering

🌼No matter the challenges in life, I can always choose to create space, and respond consciously instead of react out of patterns

🌼I am good. I make mistakes. But I AM GOOD. I deserve to heal and feel better

🌼My body and spirit are already in alignment, I just need to make friends with my mind

🌼At any given moment, I have the power to find that safe, happy space that’s not disturbed by the external experience

🌼I am more than the sums of my parts. I am beyond the personas I put on

🌼There’s so much beauty and wisdom in the fluidity of life. No reason to be rigid. Be flexible, in the body and the mind

🌼This human experience is truly a gift. Enjoy the journey and have fun

🌼Nature is powerful. The raw elements of nature heals with its magical vibrations

🌼I don’t live forever, not in this body. Cherish every moment of this life, stop wasting time

🌼Sometimes it takes more courage to let go than holding on

🌼This human body is so precious and so temporary

🌼We are all suffering and awaking together.”
