The Sacred Wachuma Ceremony

Midway through retreat, those who feel called may enter into ceremony with Wachuma- the sacred San Pedro cactus- guided by an Andean shaman whose lineage carries centuries of relationship with this plant teacher. Known as the “heart-opening medicine,” Wachuma does not pull us away from reality; it gently restores our capacity to meet life with clarity, tenderness, and truth. In this ceremonial container, the medicine works through the landscape of the body to soften armoring around the heart, illuminating old grief, and rekindling our innate capacity for love, forgiveness, and belonging. Together we enter into prayer, song, and silence: a remembering of our place within the living web of Pachamama, Mother Earth- and the luminous intelligence that lives within the human heart. Here we also work gently with local plant allies: ceremonial cacao, flower essences, and elixirs prepared from the Chakra Gardens,  subtle medicines that invite receptivity, clarity, and soft opening.
