Yin Yoga is a transformative and rejuvenative practice that seeks to mindfully lengthen and lubricate the connective tissues by practicing the methods of stillness, mindfulness, and loving kindness. This practice is an opportunity for neuroplastic molding of the rest and digest function of your brain, empowering practitioners to beckon the brain into a restful and restorative Theta Brain Wave state to increase immunologic function.

Radiating with ritual, this integrated wisdom practice is a tool to rise to your intrinsic baseline of tranquility, recall your innate ability for spaciousness, and remind your system of its unique anatomical, structural, and emotional wholeness.

A training intensive navigating the earth water and fire elements of the Traditional Chinese Medicine System and The Noble 8 fold Buddhist Path in Mindful Living.  An integrated approach to healing the subtle body through Yin Yoga. Active Vinyasa Yoga included each morning. Hands-on training technique to facilitating your own Yin & Restorative Asana sequencing.

This training will focus on the cultivation of an enriched Pranic field and an in-depth investigation of Buddhist Philosophical Principles- which we mingle with psychological self-inquiry and awareness practices in Yin Yoga Asanas. This course offers advanced anatomy and physiology, Yin & Yang Posture Clinics/Asana Labs, Restorative Yoga, Neuro-physiology of the Autonomic Nervous System, Traditional Chinese Medicine Meridians, and methods for routine mindfulness.

We will weave in a special focus on three primary vital centers of the Chinese Meridian system: 

Earth Element | Water Element | Fire Element

Nourish | Restore | Ignite

Beginners are welcome but a background of interest or experience in mindfulness and some experience in Yoga Asana (yin or yang) is required

8-9 Spleen/Earth Yin Practice

 

Day 3: Saturday 11-3, 6-8pm [Water Element] RESTORE.

8-9am Yang Practice, Inquiry, Diads

10-12 Mindfulness Module The Buddhas Quest into the Unknown, Vipassana

12-4 Self-Lead Retreat Time

4-6:30 Yin Module. Anatomy of Pelvis Psoas Sacrum. Restorative Yoga. Kidney Meridian, Water Element

6:30-7:30 Dinner

8-9 Kidney/WaterYin Practice

About the facilitator

Kali Basman

International and intentful Yin & Restorative Yoga teacher Kali Basman blends Chinese Medicine, Five Elements, and Buddhist Philosophy into a potent lunar Yin Yoga practice. On the textured path of mindful healing,  Kali is celebrated for her philosophical eloquence surrounding psychological self-inquiry, embodied Anatomy and Integrated Physiology with a sharp intellect and a soft, wide heart. She crafts innovative sequencing to address root causes of stagnation in the Chi body and targets the Yin Meridians to coax Prana into particular healing and rejuvenative pathways. 

Kali offers classes, teacher trainings, retreats and workshops around the globe. She is always happy and humbled to return to her home studio at Bhakti Yoga Shala in Los Angeles.

Kali pays reverent homage to the lineage of her two primary teachers: Sarah Powers & Pema Chodron. As well her gratitude extends to an outer mandala of other major influencers she’s studied with on the path: Jack Kornfield, Judith Hanson Lasater, Paul Grilley, Govind Das and more, contributing to her integration of Buddhist Philosophy & the Dharma, Yin & Restorative Yoga, & Bhakti Yoga.
